Hi,
I've got an '94 480 GT Turbo. LHD. With TRACS. Now I've got a stupid problem.
It's not my first 480 Turbo so I know how it's supposed to handle. The car is fine, only when I accelerate, as soon as the power increases the car pulls strongly to the right. I can feel the steeringwheel pulling, and the car puts a step to the right. It's very annoying. It does it only once, but when I shift to the next gear, it does it again. Ow yeah, it doesn't keep on pulling to one side. As soon as it has taking it's little step towards the kerbs it just goes straight again.
Then when I decellarate, I let go of the trottle, and the car does exactly the same thing, only to the left.
Also the Traction control doesn't seem to be working. Last week it was a little wet and I left at the traffic light, the wheels just started spinning. Even in 2nd gear. I thought TRACS was supposed to make sure the tires don't burn?
Can someone please point me in the right direction to fixing the problem? I can't imagine that this car came out of the factory like this. It would have long been in a junkyard if it had been.

Is the ABS working? If not then you may find it's related to TRACS as basically the same unit operates both features.
I had a very similar problem under braking with mine, this was mainly the tyres, they looked fine tread wise but were a mish mash of three different brands and I don't think it gripped evenly under harsh conditions because of it.

Though the ABS light does not light up on braking! (It does when I start the car) The ABS does work.
I have checked the wishbones, nothing is loose, but I will check the bushings. It's a bit strange though because the car had it's MOT about 3 weeks ago and nothing came up. So might not be the bushings.
Have to check some more!

Do you know if the vehicle has been involved in some kind of incident before you owner her?This could lead to pulling if you have a kinked chassis leg at the very worst case scenario...
My money is also on the wishbone bushes being more worn on the left than the right side.......
However,if they are intact,I would suggest getting your wheel alignment checked initially.Check tyre pressures too,as obvious as it may sound,and I know its not your first 480.I have my 3rd 480,but I often say "oh whats wrong withmy front suspension now"? Ithen go to check the tyre and one bump in the road has taken 4 psi from my tyre!!!!

I'll 'third' that oppinion too. It made accelerating quickly very interesting when it came to changing gear because you'd be counteracting the pull to the right, take you foot off the accelerator to change gear and it would pull to the left, so you'd counteract that by turning to the right slightly, and then you'd accelerate again, it would pull back to the right so you'd quickly have to turn to the left again!
New wishbone bushes sorted it out nicely though.

OK, I think I'm going to go with your experiences and order some new wishbone bushings, and check the air in my tires.
I hope that will fix the problem. It's very annoying to be continually correcting the steering when shifting like you said! But that`s exactly what I'm doing now.
