there is some play in my steering column and i think i have tracked it down to the middle section just above the bottom universal joint, where the smaller part of the shaft fits into the wider section of tube. i'lll take a pic if no one knows what i mean.
question is will the column or that section of column from a 94 440 with airbag wheel fit my 1990 turbo as there is one in the scrappy.
im hoping someone with a Very Accurate Data Information Source will be able to help me as i remember something about airbag steering columns being different.
cheers, Paul

It may depend if you have airbag or not, I'm not 100% sure. I had a lot of problems with slack steering and getting through the MOT. Make sure your steering rack isn't shot either. Mine had a 1year reconditioned warranty, and was two weeks outside of this and it had gone again.

i have a simular problem, i traced it back to the lower uni-joint. (in the drawings it is next to number 25.) The top half has to much free play. Replacing will be a 2 day job i fear... but first... what do i need?
wich parts? do i need the whole shaft?
and what about the donor? 480? 440?
any help is welcome!
