my fault 3 pints of stella in 3 hours and blew 58, what i dick i am 2 years of cycling for me , have fun people 480 will probally be Â£1000 minimum

But why 2 years of cycling ???

When people here in Holland loose their license they must do another exam.
Probanly will take 2 months max.
And a big fine offcourse.

Well, that could explain the preconceptions people over here have about drivers from NL ;)
If could driving drunk we loose the license for time depending on the amount of alcohol and if its too much another test is needed. (or not if it was too much/ not the first time)

My mate lost his not so long ago, hes back on the road now, after 9mths

lost his for a year then if you pay about Â£100 odd to do a course they reduce the ban to 9mths...

why 2 years?

sorry to be the downer, but no sympathy....drink drivers should be shot.
if youre gonna drive, why even have one and risk it?
2 years ban is pretty easy get off as far as im concerned....

sorry to be so negative, but ive been involved in an accident with a dui before and i had a bitch of a time until my car was sorted cos the tosser 'just had a couple'

Well come on guys, its not funny. I feel for you felyx. I could probably drive safer on 70 than some people could on 30, being such a student. I don't drink drive though of course, but i do know the temptation when everyone else is, and these thoughts enter your head....

You made a big mistake and its right you pay for it i guess, but tough luck!

It's hell being banned, I know from experience, why 2 years though? would have thought on 58 it would only be 1

'Tis a shame, but wether you be a 480 owner or not-drink driving is a stupid thing to do, very dangerous and inconsiderate to other road users.

But i do have a little sympathy-i'd hate to wake up everyday and look at my 480 just sitting there, un-usable-thats punishment enough! Lesson learnt!

tough break mate but you made the choice no one else and the next 2yrs are gonna be very tough.

i gave up drinking allot about 5-10yrs ago after i came down with stomach problem(not so much to do with drink or drugs)but since then if i want a pint(which is rare)i dont even take the car as 1 pint 2me is because of my colon(stomach) like 2-3 pints.

(not pointed at anyone just food for thought)
but if i were to be out and think"hey" lets take the car.
its that point you put yourself back in the examiners car at the point where he says youve passed!!
and remember how good it felt i bet things get clearer after that and you end up walking home.

my mate crashed his car after having afew and his insurance after the ban was almost enough to cripple him let alone put fuel in it:)

V480TI the reason i will be cycling for 2 years is because the courts do not like (rightly so) drink drivers , iand i was stupid enough to take the chance that i would be under the intoxification limit of 40mg though they do not prosicute if you are 49mg or less, and as i was over that amount i have been banned for driving for 2 years as i had been banned in 1990 for the same offence. so i will need to move country to drive or bus train or cycling.

i hav'nt moved out of a 2 mile radius for 3 weeks and it is really really doing my head in as i used to drive at least 300 miles a week. also i miss my tunes in my car.

cheers all you wonderfull 480 people i'll miss the 480 turbo boost buzz, but who knows maybe in about 14 months start building that mythological 480 T5R!!!!!and i imagine quite a lot of you will still be hear..?

my sis got done for DD years ago. Best bet is to get an insurance broker when you're gonna get back on the road.
