Ultimate 10 car garage
Following on from a discussion I've started with a few of my mates I thought I'd post up here and get some interesting suggestions!
Money is no object and you have a garage to fill, you can have any 10 cars, but only 10. I'm assuming that most of us would have their current/dream (both?) 480 in there so unless you're going to ditch the volvo you really only get 9 choices. It certainly got me thinking.
Volvo 480 Turbo - We're all aware of the love hate relationship that a 480 can inspire, and throwing enough money at it I genuinely believe there is a fantastic car under there just crying to get out.
Land Rover Defender - classic shape, long wheelbase version for me, with all the trimmings and nowt in the back. Carry loads of stuff anywhere you want. Rugged.
Citroen 2cv - Its going to give me a bit of a festive image but I just don't care. They are like no other car I've driven, they are slow, but they are gloriously simple, its often said about many things but they truly are a car with character
Porsche 944 turbo - Pop-up lights, check, rear wheel drive, check, forced induction, check. What more could I ask for in a sports car? Yes it's the 'poor man's Porsche' but it still really appeals to me for some reason, just hope the driving experience would offer all that I expect.
Koenigsegg CCX - My fix of exotica. From all that I've read/seen it is as mad as a hatter, its everything that a supercar should be, devastatingly fast, hugely impractical, dangerous, and looks the part too. One to take a date to a film premier in (dream on!)
Mitsubishi Evo - Probably something in the 6-8 range, although a brand new one would be ok too. This could just as easily get booted from the list in favour of an imprezza wrx/skyline/other 4wd japanese rocket, depending on which I liked driving the best. Basically something which you could use like a family car, or a rally car whenever it took your fancy.
Ariel atom - The lotus 7 for the 21st century, again its mad and hugely impractical but what could offer a more involving driving experience?
Civic turbo - This would be my project to work on, and something which I will do one day, think beaten up 15 year old civic, engine swap, custom manifolds/exhaust, big turbo and DIY programmable engine management. A project, and a sleeper when completed.
Toyota starlet turbo - Again this one only just makes the cut, i could be tempted to boot it in favour of and appropriate 205/golf gti. Essentially I'm saving a slot for one true pocket rocket.
I'm going to keep the final space free, cos i'm sure there will be something suggested by others that i know i want, or maybe just go mad and buy a delorean or something, I'll edit this one soon...
Phew, I may have gone a bit overboard there now that I look at the length of the thread, but go on, lets have your top 10, and the reasons why, inspire me!

Sorry, folks, I'm going to show my age now!
For starters, I'd have any pre-1st World War GP car - bloody big, slow revving engine, chain drive, skinny tyres, minimal brakes makes for really exciting motoring!
Next, a mid-1920s Bugatti Type 35B - straight eight supercharged engine, glorious sound, one of the most beautiful cars ever, and goes even better.
More practical, I'd buy back my 1930 Austin 7 Ulster (a unique driving experience!) and my 1932 Talbot (London) 75 2-seater, probably the nicest car I've owned.
Then, I'd add a late 1930s Talbot (Paris) Teardrop coupe, elegant, exotic, very very desireable.
Then I'd go post-war, and add a 1950s Jaguar XK120 roadster (my childhood dream car), and a Lancia Aurelia GT (because I now know that's a much better car).
From the sixties, I guess it's got to be an E-type Jaguar (fixed head this time).
Perhaps I'll add a Lotus Elise just for fun, and I guess I shall have to have a Range Rover with trailer, for those times when one or other of the above break down, as they surely will!
that fills the garage, so I'll park my old Fiat Panda Abarth outside for pootling to the shops....
And, of course, I'll change my mind tomorrow!

Besides the properly sorted 480 turbo, I'd have a modified 480. Something with a T5 or some such and all uprated whatever it needs to deal with that. And:
Ferrari F40
Ferrari F40 for tweaking and general mucking about with
Jaguar XJ220
McLaren F1
Volvo 850R saloon
Lotus Exige
Porsche 959
Honda Integra Type R

To put it quite simply, I just could not choose ten cars! I have loads of cars I'd love to own, and just couldn't narrow it down!
However, I do get the urge to own something in particular now and again. I must admit, at the minute, I'd love a Wolseley Hornet Mini or an Austin/Morris Traveller/Countryman (I'm a Mini man)! Took my Mini off the road last year and it was in a sorry, sorry state. Really fancy something older and different to make a mark with.
Besides Minis, I'm taken by Volvos at the minute; would love a late satin white Turbo Automatic or a really early solid black Turbo with the red stripe. To be honest, I'm sick of looking at metallic paints and especially that purpleness in the metallic black colour of my S.
Keeping to the Volvos, if fuel economy wasn't an issue for me I'd be cruising in a big 245 (I just love the look of them!) or if 'not-a-chance' wasn't an issue I'd gladly roam around in the VESC (Volvo Experimental Safety Car)!

Volvo 480 Turbo - i too would look to modify it to 4x4 with a T5 or something!
FERRARI F355 Berlinetta - top of my list!
BMW Z3M coupe (could easily be a Jaguar XK tho) - Something nice and fast to have a bit of fun in.
Land Rover Defender (must have EVERY gadget) - for excaping into the hills and i suppose would be handy for Ikea runs etc!
Audi S8 - a comfortable car for long motorway drives
Aston Martin Virage - This would be my convertible for sunny days
Camper Van (of some description) - handy for touring
Quad with snow plough + trailer - hand to have around!
What's that ... eight? Well i suppose i could leave 2 for the other half!
