440 turbo breaking, all parts available :)

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

440 turbo breaking, all parts available :)

Post by Murf » Mon Aug 07, 2006 9:25 pm

Decided to break the turbo, i love chopping things up!
Good low mileage engine, good front fogs, fairly new wishbones loads of goodies including a 480 compatible speedo with no dial peel or issues with only 20k on it, replaced by volvo for a new one as the old one was faulty!

Dont PM me, post here with parts requests so i can keep track of what everyone wants.May take up to a week to remove the parts and post them due to work/lazyness issues so be patient :)

To start things off:
GCF wants the crankcase breather valve thingy.

I wish you weren't so damn far away, because there's loads of bits I'd like off of you, but I'm too stingy to pay for the postage and I doubt I could afford it for some of the parts I'm looking for. Things like the engine and turbo  !
Currently on Volvo 440 number 4, and after scrapping my first 480, I will get another one when space/money allows it.

Hi,

Assuming its a manual gearbox, how much would you be looking for on a pair of front wishbones? What condition are the bushes in?

Cheers,

Ed

here's an odd one for you, can i have the gear knob? nothing mechanical, just the knob itself, ive had an aftermarket one since i bought the car and would be nice to bring it back to how it should be. got to worth at least 50p  plus no messing about with postage as i can just pop over and pick it up!

Hey Murf,
Hows the window motors? I could do with a pair, and a drivers wing if it good.
Cheers,
Mark.

nah im very chuffed with my much mocked abrasive stuck on pedal covering type stuff. looks like i shouldn't have to change it any more often than engine oil, which is nice, aint no way im going back to rubber now, cheers anyway tho!

i'm off to ponder what other wierd bits i might be after...

Damn students! Instead of lashing out 50p on a gearknob, why not just glue your hand to the gearstick, it'll never slip off then !

Murf-what model 440 is it? Is it the Mk1 or the facelifted model? If it's the Mk1, i'm looking for the heated seat switch panel above the cubby holes in the centre console. I know it doesn't have a long range light switch, but i'm sure i have a spare knocking about...

As i think Murf said in this thread, the window motors are completely different on the 480 to the 440.
