Classic trader stuff; it’s a £500 max from me!

Let’s see if I can catch everything this time:
- Missing front numberplate holder
- Volvo badge missing from nosecone
- Front spoiler missing altogether
- Paint in mid condition, black strips are worn
- Nasty dealer-fit sunroof is present and (in)correct
- Looks to be a sight dent on passenger door
- Rot on near side B pillar
- Tyres will be knackered without doubt, but the original fit Pollux alloys look to be in reasonable condition, with all hubcaps present.
- Drivers door looks to have been a replacement at some point.
- Rear lower arches look….like they’re probably hiding something…..Hard to tell from grainy pictures.
- Rear light lenses knackered
- Rear wiper cowling missing
- Rear washer jet housing missing
- Despite having leather seats, it has the standard grey carpet for the velour cars, not the thicker purple carpet seen on the half & full leathers. This leads me to think that this would’ve had either red or blue piped upholstery originally.
- Wear to drivers side bolster (cleverly hidden in picture)
- Passenger seatbelt arm broken
- No mention of info-centre or gauge cluster - a common failure point, especially on early phase 1 cars.
- Rear seats completely missing altogether
- Crack on dash surround corner.
- Glovebox broken, and there seems to be some weird damage to the dashboard skin next to it.
- Rot underneath the door seal where it meets the sill. An issue I had on my car, but luckily I fixed it before it got that bad.
- Rotten spare wheel well. Caused by water collecting at the bottom, so most likely there was/is a leak in the boot.
- Exhaust muffler is looking decidedly crusty.
- Doesn’t even run! (According to seller it’s the ECU, so could be a ‘simple fix’ hmmm)
- Sat from 2000-2016, then again from 2016 to 2022
- 88k miles, but in this condition that doesn’t really mean much.
- Had a new timing belt and brakes in 2016, but would need to be renewed now anyway.
- MOT history is bare, as it’s only had two since online records began in 2006.
- There is *some* service history, but when a car has been off the road for the best part of 22 years, does that even matter?
- No mention of the rear bumper bar, but perhaps somethings are just best left unsaid
In conclusion, I agree, 500 is the max I’d personally pay for this. Being a Turbo, the engine itself will have at least some residual value, but will most likely make its way into a restomod Renault 5 once the auction has concluded.
Will take 1500+ and a lot of work to get this to any reasonable standard.
The last V5C issue date wasn’t even a month ago, and some of the pictures are quite deceptive. The description tells only half the story.

Nicely spotted; the sills, missing nosecone badge, side bumper mess and lack stone guards on the quarters all point to a cheapo respray. And if it’s a cheapo job, I’d guess it didn’t include money for proper arch repairs.
My gut feel is that it was done back 2016 after the mot with intention of a big sale; only to then have a none start problem.

Just watched that count down.
£1675 with much activity at the end.
Not bad for a non-runner!
