Thetford Forest Meet-Sat 4th June

Post by catgroom » Sun Mar 06, 2005 10:27 pm

This may seem mad but I thought I'd see if anyone from the Forum may be interested in a meet in Thetford Forest,Norfolk on Sat 4th June.

I know its really close to the Welsh meet. The point was that some of the London/Essex/Sussex/Cambs/Lincs/Norfolk 480 manoeverers may not be able to make it or have the option of both or a more local meet.

Im going to both if this pulls off. Some may just choose to go to one or the other-who knows until I ask???

So lets play with my pole on this one :?

Steve.

Not really able too, going to the Wales meet I reckon. But the 480 will probably be off the road most of the time between now and then. Will cost a small fortune to temp insure it for Wales meet, so not really looking to take it out too much until I can sort some dual insurance.

Well Mart,if we all chat here first in this post about what we'd like from the meeting we should all be happy on the day yeah?

I was keen to organise a meet in an area central for the counties I outlined, some of us haven't met eachother before or have not been to a 480 meet yet as Northern ones too far/cost etc so just giving it a whirl really!

I had thought it might be a good idea for people to all say which parts they have spare, maybe they could then bring them for other members?

No they are not THAT bad they are WORSE!!!
Hardly any motorways and just to prove..it took me about 12 hours of pure driving to get from Cambridge to PL/German border and it is including eurotunnel travel - the distance according to my car is 1250km (about 750 miles) but it took me about 6,5 hours of just driving to get from the border to Warsaw and that is JUST 450 km....shall I tell you more..
The speed on motorways in UK and France was usually 150-170km/h (90-100 mph) in Germany 190 km/h..in Poland well..about 80 km/h..single lane roads..
What else..have i mentioned holes?? Big huge..not to mention what is going on in Warsaw right now..finally thel bloody snow has melted and now I can see some holes...Few days ago i was wondering if I still have any of the suspention left..
And that is just concerning the roads..shall i start talking about the rest of things :D
I do miss the scrappys full of 480 parts :D and a few hundret other things :D
And of course all you guys :D
