Volvo 480 Club Europe

.....Thank you so much again to Sylvia and Al for organising another great meet! Not everything went according to plan, what with Well Dressing Competions and mini riots ( ) but the turn out was great, the company enjoyable and the weather for the most part stayed dry (it only rained on my way home) I loved driving Snake Pass again, as did my 480! High light had to be Jame's D reg. totally impressed by this little gem! The only thing that was missing was a big group shot! I'd love to post phots but cant as you all know how difficult that is nowadays, but there are some on the FB page!

Next stop Chiltern Hill Vintage Rally next sunday (20th May) We have a guy from Belgium going just for this event so it would be great to greet him with a good amount of 480, so please, if you can do come. Entries can be taken on the day (Class N is you one you'll be able to enter) hopefully see some of you there.

I also wish to thank Sylvia and Al for organising the meet that I and at the very last minute my better half managed to attend in the end, all be it just at Tissington Hall. One day I may even turn up in a 480.

Another great day thanks to all our lovely members who more than make it all worthwhile. We were pleased to welcome Oli and Andres with not one but TWO two-tones for the first time. Also Richard with his gorgeous flame red GT (which he's only just bought - well done him !) Hopefully they enjoyed our company and we will see them again at future meets. James' launch car made it by the skin of its teeth and caused a lot of interest. We even got a quick glimpse of Ade going the other way before he joined us briefly at the Royal for the entertainment in the carpark
My photos aren't much different to those already posted, but Al had his new dashcam recording so once I fathom out how to do it I will hopefully be able to extract some stills to post. I just wish he'd listened when I asked him to bring up the rear on Snake Pass...... Perhaps I should get him a rear facing one as well. The first challenge will be to find out what he did with the box, output cable and instructions.

Are we due an update on yours yet?

We solved the mystery of the red GT colour looking rather different to the red Celebrations by simply popping the bonnets to check the colour codes - both the same but by different paint manufacturers.

Looks like it was a fantastic day filled with stunning cars!!! Gutted I missed out but I’m looking forward to the meets later in the year!

The good news is I have worked out how to get stills from the dashcam on here.
The bad news is AWFUL - nothing recorded on Snake Pass !!!! So disappointing, but here are the rest:-

heard from a bloke I passed in this village-
'Holy sh!t it's a 480 turbo!' followed by a high pitched squeak 'and another one!!'
as I thought to myself 'well, I'm leading so actually there are 10 480s behind me'

Snake Pass should have been next, but it's a lovely view of Glossop Leisure centre behind a carwash where Al stopped to fill up. After that he wasn't following 480s
I have been right through every file on the dashcam and there is nothing else, can only think he pressed the wrong button and managed to turn it off, although he's sure it was still displaying on the screen.
