Evening All,

Anybody going to the Volvo Marque day (celebrating 80 years of possibly the finest car manufacturer...in the world) at the Heritage Motor Park nr Warwick in early September??

The family and i will be in Nottingham that weekend anyway, so i'm hoping to nip across in the old Saab (my 480 just isn't ready for this long a roadtrip yet) and have a good gander at all the Volvo finery!!

Found out about the details from a flyer received in last months Classic & Sportscars Mag (shameless plug). Also spoke with Volvo promotions, but they cannot yet confirm which clubs have shown an interest!

Still reckon it could be worth a look however.

Celeb has spent the last 6 months garaged, sheltering from the Aberdeen weather!! Admittedly i've not finished a huge amount on her, but she is booked in to get re-MOTed next month. With luck i intend to start using her as my daily drive from later in the year.

BTW keep seeing a blue K-Reg 480 in the town - anybody you know??

I was in the heritage motor museum for a CAD conference a fortnight ago.

It was due to reopen to the public in 2-3 days. Its a cool place.

If its a paris blus turbo i know the one. Older lady usually driving it but the cars pretty tatty. Theres an H plate Grey Turbo that works in Dyce but its not been there recently and also there used to be a celebration going about in flame red. It was immaculate! Haven't seen it in a while though.
Glad your celebs coming along. :D

Yeah, this is news to me to. You got any info and links, Roge1?

Maybe we should have a presence there, especially as the 480 is the one they tried to forget.

Aw no! How could they have tried to forget it?!?! I love it!

Anyway, event near Warwick? Any other details? Would like to come along and show off my pride and joy. Nice for something to be local to me any other 480 owners going?

The link that ROO attached has now been updated. Visitors who show up driving a Volvo get free admission, everyone else is £10/head (kids go free!).

Now looks like Volvo drivers AND the first 800 people to arrive at the centre will get free admission!

I'll be there, probably with the bored family in tow, but who else is looking to attend - would be great to actually meet other 480 owners (i keep hoping to spot Roo in or around the granite city, but he has so many different vehicles i could be passing him and not even know!!.....)

Do a drive-by the house and you'll see a 480, other than that i'm in the Range Rover. Make yourself known next-time. :D

I've just driven 1000km back in my old 480es from France, I don't know whether I'll be down here on saturday as my mothers just passed away and I've got to go and help out with family stuff.

I live about 5 miles from The Heritage motor museum though so its a shame.
