Chat option on the forum for forum users?
Now that I have the hang for it I was thinking "what else could I do to enhance your 'forum experience'"
I noticed that perhaps a chat function might be a nice extra, but am doubting. Without giving away my thoughts on the (dis)advantages of having a chat option on the forum I was wondering what everyone's view on this matter is.
So go ahead!
And if there is something else you would like to see as an extra then feel free to post suggestions below!

I selected no, as others would not be able to see the information and would not be of assistance if they have a similar car problem. If you want a social chat then there PM's and other methods (facebook, msn, telephone...)

I would like that external links clicked on the forum open in an external tab or window, not in the same window leaving the forum.coyote1980 wrote:And if there is something else you would like to see as an extra then feel free to post suggestions below!

Yessss, thanks for that! :)
Regarding to the vote: I selected yes, because it would be a good alternative for private messages.
But on the other hand I understand the Captain's reasons, however I trust the intelligence of the community, when such problems you mentioned would be posted to the forum anyway.. or something like that.. :)

There seem to be an issue with the quotes, at least on my screen.

Re: Chat option on the forum for forum users?
Nope there isn't. It's just that when someone wants to use BBCode like the '[ quote ]' tag they have to clear the checkbox 'disable BBCode' in the post options below the message.Van wrote:There seem to be an issue with the quotes, at least on my screen.
Re: Chat option on the forum for forum users?
I do not see a checkbox 'disable BBCode'. Only at the right of this line I see: BBCode is OFF. But I have BBCode enabled in my profile settings. The tags were functional first after the board came active, only got dysfunctional later. [for me, that is]

I seem to have the same thing as 'van', The only thing to do with BBCode that I have on the screen is ''BBCode is OFF'' and no other option/tickbox.

Re: Chat option on the forum for forum users?
Well the BBCode problem has been confirmed after some testing, but it seems to exist only on the announcement forum for standard users. So the effect is minimal
Favicon
The Favicon, nice touch but what is it? A miniaturized image of the Volvo from the page header? Or an artistic black and white pencil drawing?
So I want to suggest to get a favicon that can recognized. Maybe just the number 480?

Re: Chat option on the forum for forum users?
I have changed the favicon - just wanted something at the time so took the logo and shrunk it, but I can imagine it's not that clear at 16x16 pixels
So in a few hours / days the new favicon should be visible.

I see it. Good work.
