Modding the backpanel - keyhole-less trunk!
What do you think? On my trunk the keyhole has sucked in so much dirt that it has stopped working several years ago. Atleast I think so. I opened the cylinder last year and couldn't get it to open. Jammed quite good it is.
So I though - as I hardly ever have a use for it anyway, why not just make it disappear.
There are two ways to go with this... Mod the original or get a similar panel from some other car. Has anyone come up with the same idea? And even made it happen.
To clarify things, this is what I've planned it to look like.

Yeah, It is a small detail. But still I think it looks kinda neat

Yeah i saw that here a while ago.
Maybe similar with glowing Volvo in the middle of it. Well maybe not.
I have a spare middle plate and I though I'd shred that and make a piece for my current plate. Well should I cut out a round piece for that keyhole, or should I saw off the whole keyhole section and replace it with a bigger piece... I think it would be hard to get it looking good.

I recently seen an MR2 with a glowing rear badge ... like this one
I say it would look ace on the back of a 480 saying "VOLVO"!!

this seems to be unanimous!! Could this be the start of one of those 'group buy' things? All we need is the materials?!JohnTurbo wrote:The glowing "480" does look cool
