Truck Badging-anyone clued in on Volvo Trucks Here!?

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Truck Badging-anyone clued in on Volvo Trucks Here!?

Post by catgroom » Thu Nov 04, 2004 4:22 pm

Hi Guys/ettes!!!

I recently showed my Turbo on a stand at the Norfolk Showground.

There was an enourmous turn out of Volvo Trucks which I surprised myself by finding very interesting.Maybe the child coming out in me !!

My point is,on the door of a 52 or 53 reg Truck was a 460 badge in silver, different from the 460 car type badge.I have just had a lengthy look at the Volvo Truck site,it doesnt number their trucks in this 3 digit style not surprisingly!!!!

I guess it was, say,an FH12 Truck with a 460 hp engine or style 460 trim spec.???

I would be pleased to find that they make a 480 truck badge, and have written to them.Im impatient though and wondered whether anyone here would know.

Im planning to update the badging on my Turbo.Hopefully one Truck 480 badge on each wing, one on the tailgate after removing the 480 Turbo one. Also will be placing the small black "Handling by Lotus" transfer from a Proton Satria GTi under the o/s/r cluster.

Different,and hope it'll look appropriate.

Any Truckers out there???C'mon?!!!!!!!

Steve. :D

quite odd really. Your average bus is only 200 odd hp. Kinda feels like it should be more!

Volvo has as far as I know never done a 480 bhp truck. The numbers on them always refers to the engines bhp.

The FH12 is available in a 460 bhp version, as well as a 500.
I drive a 5 month old FH16 with 610 bhp, top of the line. :)

Scania has a V8-engine with 480 bhp, nowadays upgraded to 500. I think DAF and maybe MAN also has a 480.

Yes,Ettore Bugatti was right.
I looked on Google by typing in DAF XF95 480 and yes,its a DAF Truck, not a Volvo-my confusion as it was parked in with a line of Volvos at the show I was displaying my car at.

I have contacted DAF and await their response.

Thanks for your efforts! Happy Truckin!!! :D

With 2.800 Nm between 950-1500 rpm it can be a real serious redlight-racer, hehe...

The cannon on the trailer was going to be scrapped...
Probably just a heap of metal now as we speak. :cryhard:
(That is one of the worlds heaviest self-powered long-range cannons.)
