so simple, hardly noticeable, but does make a difference....

for those who like to keep everything looking colour coded
(thanks to piper1st for pic....*cough* knicked your sig!)
Image

basically......remove the volvo badge from the grill under the bumper as above........sand the back of it off until all black paint has been removed....then spray it the colour of your choice.....glue back into place and voila! colour coded volvo badge......always looks better if coded to car (you lucky black owners ;) )

I've got the newer style badge on mine, bit they changed the shape over so slighty so it needs a bit of filing to fit.

but youre badge comes out yeah?
i didnt mean replace with an older style badge or anything....if you take the badge out, it should go back in the place it came from ????

i may be missing something? are the newer style badges not like the one in the pic?
the first one i did was a 92 paris blue one....that had a badge that came out and could be sanded off etc....didnt need to file anything down to make it fit?

Ah, I think I see what you mean. Mine was cracked and looking pretty messy, so I got one of the newer style logos, that are blue in colour. I think its around 2003-2004 or something onwards.

Very carefully ease it apart with a knife ,then sand the black paint off.
Take your time though as it felt as if it would break at any time.

Yeah, I already chipped small area off the glass part. I think I'll just polish the glass and paint the black stripes to white :)

hmm, something else to add to my to do list - replace the chrome bits.. I'm not a great fan of chrome per se, but seeing yours all nice and shiny reminds me how mine being all tarnished it makes the car look scruffier than it really is..

a better way to get middle out without breaking things . drill small hole in the back of the case and push badge out with screwdriver.
