Detailed pics of Volvo original bodykit

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Detailed pics of Volvo original bodykit

Post by DaKyy » Wed May 30, 2007 8:02 pm

Has anyone got - or know of any decent size pictures of 480's with the original bodykit. I know bakkes car did have one, but he had modified it. Also there are only those pics left that are on COTM pages. Particularly I'd like to see pics of the sideskirts as the set i bought doesn't have them

Well I could just wait for my set to arrive but I'm too anxious. :hopping:

It would seem so! Have you got any pics of your purchase?

Sounds good :D Lucky man! Here are some pictures of the original bodykit(club France):

I think there at some point was a set of original sideskirts going on ebay and at the moment soon ending a set that looks like hausser sideskirts:

Now did I say lucky man :) I think the original bodykit is extremely rare and something special!

looks nice dude....you going to have to repair where the previous owners cut out for the tow bar though yeah?
arent the volvo body kit side skirts the same as the ones on a 440?

They are but there about 2inches longer. I held up the ones i've got onto the 480 and the fit was really good, apart from the front overhang!

Well. I'm still waiting him to send the bumpers. I've already paid for them. Getting some cold sweat here. He had over 200 positive feedback though...

Can anyone tell me what is that second hole for next to the second foglight? (no, not the exhaust pipe hole :))

edit: well it has to be for the towing hitch right? a bit big hole for it nonetheless...

The only problem is that hole made for tow bar. Fibreglass is probably the best as I cant use plastic welding (it needs to be the same plastic from same bumper to work). Bad thing about fibreglass and plastic is that it tends to crack on the seam...

that looks pretty tasty dude....cant wait to see pics of it on the car!

the hole next to fog light...not the one cut out in the centre....isnt it for the standard towing eyelet ?
(i know the centre cut out is for a towbar)

if you were going to try plastic welding....why not cut out a piece from a 480 bumper if you have one spare...wouldnt it be the same material?

yummy!

ive always thought that the 480 could handle a deeper bumper, rather than the slanted back angle of its original one...

looks really good!!
top stuff

All I currently have is this:
http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/ahti.peur ... 8244638930
And you can browse for some general pics also from there.
Don't have any dimensions to give though... I might get to take some pics when I visit the paintshop next time.

FYI: someone on the Dutch auctionsite Marktplaats is selling Hausser sideskirt replica's.
