Well, I got mine when I was 19, and was blown away with the performance (having got used to a 340 1.7 :))

I'm afraid I'd also say get hold of a standard turbo 480, as there are so many things you can do to the engine without too much work. I'm only a student, and although have had a few £ problems, I'm back on track and about to fit a T25 to my engine, which should make future mods a little easier!

Unless you're used to driving around in genuinely quick cars, then the 480 turbo with either an MBC or better still the £80 ECU mod will provide many months of entertainment before you get bored and want more grunt!

hmmm, sounds more like nitrous is the route you want, something bolt on, simple and cheap.
there's alot to choose and do, with alot more cost for any sort of turbo conversion, especially if engines is new to ya, and for the drive your after takes a good bit of trial and error

True, however I don't wanna blow the engine! Surely i'd need to upgrade the parts for such a measure? And Nitrous is non renewable, namely ill have to keep buying new bottles every time i get trigger happy!

http://www.noswizard.com/

trevor langfield is the guy who started the company.....really top bloke too.....i used to race against him on the strip a few years ago.....no one could touch him...his car was phenomenal....old MKII escort with a v8 rover lump up front.

you dont have to actually change anything to add nos, as long as whats there is in good nick.....its only another fueltype that youre adding....think trev does both main types of system (ie direct port, or the one that mixes the no2 with fuel further up the line whatever its called)
theres a nice table somewhere on the site that shows the bhp gains against which kit you buy....its all good stuff.

Haz...you ever come across trev on the strip? i *think* he still races?

Don't worry it won't make your floor pan drop away and start sparking on the road!!

not that i'm aware of rob, usually got ma head under the bonnet havin a tweek so dont notice wats goin on lol.

you'll have less chance of blowin the engine wit gas than you would if ya just bolted a turbo on. there's plenty of sites n info on the net.
