Club T-Shirts?

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Club T-Shirts?

Post by suddy » Sun Apr 10, 2005 5:04 pm

Good idea, or bad idea?
Reason I ask is, ive got a mate with a t-shirt printer, and ive asked him could he make 480 club t-shirts with perhaps the club logo on. at the moment he is limited to one colour of ink. these wouldnt be free, but we could have them for a good price.

what do you lot think?

As for me it's a good idea. I'd like to have one. I'm thinking about making one for me with standard printer and special paper.

I believe the French club have t-shirts, nicked John's picture from Dunkirk but look at the guys in the picture in the blue t-shirts they have the French club logo on them.

Club shirts

Post by welsh-dragon » Tue Apr 12, 2005 10:07 pm

I agree with Ad, great idea but personally think the polo shirts look tidier and also last longer than a t-shirt.
Certainly count me in if the right design and shirt is forthcoming!

yes, great idea! :) .................not so sure about polo shirts though, yes they last longer, but to me they look a bit like a uniform. T-shirts can be personalised, and people are more likely to wear them with jeans. If they're to market the club, then people have to feel comfortable wearing them out and about, so they get as much exposure as possible.

If this is serious consideration, then maybe we should wait until the new logo is ready and then take a poll on t-shirts versus polo shirts?

You'd never see me dead in a poloshirt, but just a matter of taste i guess.

My mind affilates poloshirts with people who live to play golf.

I have very good friends who seem to pull them off....but then they do play golf a lot.

club teeshirt is an "excellent" idea.......and if we all agree on the logo and a colour we could have either polo or teeshirt style!!

Colour...well do we want to go with blue llike our continental friends or not???

Black or navy is good

I think we should have the club logo but without the dark blue back ground and without the word 'Club' so it would just be 'Volvo 480 Europe', i like the blue the french club have

The blue are nice but it'd be better if we can offer few colour: red, white, blue, black etc. adn name them just like colours of 480. What do you think?
PS. there shuold be word 'Club'

Dogbert's big book of business has the following advice....
There are few things in life less efficient than a group of people trying to write a sentance.

(but the advantage is that the result will be something for which you cannot be held personally responsible)
The custom speedo thread should be a lesson to us...someone needs to come up with a quite neutral design, and those who like it buy one, and those who don't don't.

Yes, personally I've got to agree with Mr. V DerGraaf on this one..................
me?..............in a polo shirt!
T-shirt is better coz then you can cut the sleeves off and wear it with a pair of low slung jeans!

a choice would be better..............and that'll seperate the t-shirts from the poloshirts!

I have a feeling there will be alot more to say on this subject. ;)

OK, please note this is not an official club request for feedback, but for the sake of the thread, I've added a Poll to the top of this so you can all have a choice :P

i like the idea of the several colours and having the name of the colour somewhere, like across the shoulders "paris blue" or "satin white" etc etc
but deff. t-shirts, im not old enough for polo shirts, maybe when im 40ish  and yeh i like the idea of dropping club off the end, it sounds a little childish being part of a "club"!
