How many 480s are there left

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

I see a few now that I have one. I used to have a Proton and mine was probably one of about 40 on the road. Only ever seen one like my old one and I regret taking it to the scrapper now!!

One of my last ones is still in Bridgwater I believe. I am the second owner of my celebration which came from the north of England. I very rarely see one around here.

Hi!

The best way is to write to Stuart Rodgers at Volvo Customer Relations UK.

Cheers,

Silly Groom!!!!

Of course,as Paul says,DVLA may give that info out but be prepared for a "we really are a bit busy to be doing that kind of thing" response.

I know the DVLA are super compared to how they were, but only because their now more automated.Automation of their system may be a block to such info.

But it better bloomin' not be!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More than one of us proud 480 peeps would like to know that for sure eh?!!!!!

lots of em around here in the NL, in east belgium and the border region in germany..still ( no surprize ) I can see the factory from here. :)

Its however harder and harder to find a scrapper. It looks as if some one is buying them away from the crapper in a whole..

I think we had the easiest time owning a 480. hits getting harder and harder, since parts are getting rare!
luck,
JPF

Details from volvo uk

Post by momv » Mon Nov 22, 2004 1:12 pm

I have just received this information from Volvo UK: :D

"I was pleased to learn that you have recently purchased a Volvo 480 and
I wish you many safe and happy miles in your new car.

I can confirm the following information on the Volvo 480.

First registered = 16/04/1987
Last registered = 01/08/1996

Total sold in the UK = 22421

Unfortunately we have no details on how many Volvo 480's are still on
the road. I would recommend contacting the DVLA as they may be able to
offer further assistance."

Unfortunately  - I have already contacted DVLA and they did not provide any info on how many 480s there still are on the road.

says a lot about the the design of our 480's if 22000 found homes
There's a bit of 480 in all of us
