It's not cheap to own a 480
I' very angry. Two weeks ago my clutch began to slip so there had to be a new one and on wednesday the gearbox broke. So my 480 costed me 2000€ in the last 2 weeks. But I love my 480 that much so I hope it will be cheaper in the next months

don't talk about 480 expenses, nothing on my ES has been changed and she was born in 1989, so I guess a couple of things'll need changing specially as I've done more miles in it in a month than my dad in a year when he drove it
I think I might go for a diesel thing for driving around and only use the 480 for weekends...

That's not so much.Sophie wrote:yeah, ok, but 1000miles in about 3 weeks is too much for me, and I can't keep up with the petrol cost, specially as Ive got a rather heavy right foot...
In the last two weeks I have done almost 4000 miles
That is in no way normal though.

I know the car very well, it my second 4xx since my 440 and I also had a 480 which I deconstructed. The problem is that I need the car to get to work and I have to work till 10 pm so it'S nearly impossible to go by public means of transport there and I had enough from dad's citroen ax diesel after 2 days . The car was at my volvodealer and he had a gearbox so he got the job and fixed it in 6 hours(he said it will last for some days because he had so much cars there but then he called on the same day that th car is finished)pol wrote:Suppose it depends on how good you get to know your car and fix yourself. My new gearbox was £30!! With a lot of hours spent...

6 hours is about right for a gearbox change. If you don't have a ramp anyway.
My record on the 480 is 2300 miles in 6 days. 3 of these days were down the german autobahn doing flat out speeds. Last year between MOT's i managed to clock up 27,000 miles.
I miss my 480 so much it hurts. She is currently getting her cancer sorted.
