1986 volvo 480 ES for sale!

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

The asking price is ridiculous.

I don't think so, but I can't be 100% sure. However, the license plates are very early so it must have a very low chassis number, maybe not just that low. Still, it looks promising and interesting...

It's high, but if the car is in really good condition I can imagine it. 1986 is the only 480-productionyear that will become tax-free in Holland, so compared with any other year you're saving about 320 euros a year. You can even install LPG and drive cheaply.

The fabric on the drivers chair seems OK, so probably by sacrificing a UK passenger chair in good nick you can have seats that look like new.

And to top it off: black with red striping is iconic :D

It takes ten years to earn the blatant price back saving on the tax.

Well, if you insist on a break even by not paying taxes... Take in consideration the fact that a 1986 is in a few years no worse investment than a 1995 model. In a few years it will all come down to the amount attention a 480 has had and not per se to the age of the car. A 1995 model may be in a far worse condition than a 1986 480.

Here's another one: link

It's cheaper, but you can immediately pay a fortune for getting the wheel arches treated.
