I just couldn't do it!

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

I just couldn't do it!

Post by Big Brother » Sat Sep 19, 2009 6:25 pm

Ok last year I bought the S40 and said the 480 would have to go to pay for it, wellllllllll, when it actually came to putting up an ad I just couldn't do it! So I parked her on the drive and apart from the occasional start (stood idle for 6 month) she hasn't moved more than a few feet to stop the brakes seizing up.

But that’s all changed, today I took the Celeb for her MOT and she passed first time with flying colours, the mechanic commented on the good condition for a car of its age and the fact it had been off the road for over a year. Just waiting for the insurance certificate to turn up and I’ll be able to tax it then I’ll have a new commuting car.

Spent nearly 4 hours cleaning and polishing her this morning before the MOT and she looks better now than she has in a long long time.

Right, tax is paid and should be here soon, not going to use it for work right away as I think it needs breaking in a bit after not doing anything for a year, think 72 miles a day straight might be a bit much to start with
