reliability/running costs es vs turbo

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

wahey! another rotherham lad.....
turbo....depends really....it really is one of those 'piece of string' questions....
if you get a decent car, in good nick....the costs could be just what an es could be....initial fix of things like clusters, pop ups...yo know the general stuff.
after that the running costs are no more than any other car....regular oil changes are probably the most important thing you could do.....possibly a bit more than an NA car.
to try to give an example.....
1st car - 480 paris blue S - cheap to buy, spent nowt on it...ran forever
2nd car - 480 met black es - spent loads to get it ok, maybe 60 quid running costs for the time i had it.
3rd car - 480 silver turbo - cost bucket loads, never got it running right, sold on
4th car - 480 paris turbo - cost hardly anything, spent hardly anything, ran like a dream....right into a wall

so it all depends really buddy

480 1.7i Running Costs = No one knows because no one ever buys them
480. 2.0i Running Costs = £200000 a month
480. 2.0i Running Costs = £2000010 a month (uses more petrol)

480's suck.... at least mine does
