Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

New owner

Post by Mike » Sat Dec 02, 2006 9:51 pm

Hello, all,
I've just bought my first 480, a 1989 ES in Smoke Silver (306) with the Grey interior with a Blue stripe (2122). Interested to see on the web site that this interior was only used with Petrol Blue (219). Was mine a special order?Image
Lot's of little niggles to sort out, so I expect I shall be visiting this site on a regular basis!
For starters, how do I remove the B-post trims to replace the seat belt tensioners? Mine are both broken off; I have sourced a pair of new replacements, as I don't like being strangled by the seatbelt!
I also need to strip out all the seats, as the previous owner had a dog which has left the interior covered in dog hairs, which are proving difficult to remove from the seat fabric....
Any advise and encouragement most welcome!

No the interior wasn't only used with Petrol Blue color. My friend's got it in his red turbo.
BTW Welcome to the club :hopping:
Edit My advice is: do a research on the forum. I'm sure you'll find answers for all your questions.

Thanks, Dan, that's just the sort of help I need.
Looks nice and simple, so it's into the garage this morning to see what I can do.

I believe the grey with black bumpers had the blue stripe standard. Mine had the blue stripes also.

Hi Mike, welcome to the club!

Dog hairs - just use some brown parcel tape, works a treat.

Best way to get dog hair out of cloth seats? Remove and replace with some leather or half leather interior and UPPPP_GRADE!

Welcome to the club.
