Poor 480 on ebay

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

I feel like buying it, just to put it out of its misery...

I've had a few contacts with the breakers yard-the bloke who owns it is actually a bit of a cock, so i'm not surprised it's still there...

I got a replacement doorlock for my faulty one from him. All excited-like, I ripped the lining off my door the weekend after I got it, fiddled around to get the lock out and after about an hour of that, found that...

drumroll...

my new lock had the exact same problem as my old one. Ayup, I got the lock sent to me, with the key inside and I could not turn it to get it out. Woohoo. Dunno about his other dealings, but he is less than scrupulous and never returned my calls or emails after.

Oh yeah this guy

He tried to sell me the full leather from it with massive dents in the leather, he sent tiny low res pictures of it to mask it, and was very difficult to get a straight answer out of.

The alsatian runs free...

Bit odd really, there's only been once I've had any problems with him, and that was only a wrong inlet hose, and that soon got sorted, but I suppose that dealing face to face with someone is alot better than doing it all over the net, there's a big difference between pics and having the part there in front of you, as far as I'm concerned he's the first place I go when I'm looking for bit's and not bothered about having them new

But you could say the same sort of things as what we've all said about any breakers, there's a couple round here that I wont deal with, yet I know other people that swear by them and wont use anyone else, all down to personal experience I suppose

Second hand parts, at prices that don't make me wanna run off to Volvo to get them new after all, but allow him to make a living. That's all good. But I also expect said second hand parts to actually work when sold to me. At least once.
