film 480?

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

dunno if there are such movies.
but last time i was at the DIY and there I have been watching a commercial with the 480.
It was about cleaning alsorts of thing without leaving stripes on the paint or the glas.
it was a <92 cus of the old type mirrors and orange sidemarkers.
somuch fun to look at, to see the car getting cleaned without that irritating markes of the water drying on the hood and roof.
But the product doesn't work.
the idea was good and so was the promocar.
the product sucks.

hi, just a thought, an imaginative moment. im sure we could do it if we tried dont you think so? I bellieve 480 is a bit F16 or so they say could play the roll of an unasuming coupe which .... you guesed it, it folds into an F16 or like and has become of high priority as an under cover most lethal weapon ever, US of course. the driver is an indestructable robot running on the same electronics parts as the car, we'll call him Vobot. I dont know what do you think. regards Joe....hollwood....

Transformers - masters in disguise

The link between the 480 and the F16 is the way the instruments work, the knob for controlling the info center is identical to the controls in a F16 ;)

hlo AAhhh. Lotus suspension ummm, Porshe tuned ummmmm, So the the f16's got an info center has it? if not what's function of the knob in an f16. Do you know if 480's got anything else in common with f16? regards joe.

and at crucial moments in the film he will stop working for no apparent reason, need hours of knuckle scraping work, then start again, for.....you guessed it, no apparent reason!!!

i would bet my left testicle that this particular scene was filmed in europe. it is rare enough to see a 480 in the usa roads, now look at the renault 5 in the right side. too much coincidence...

here you have the answer: i surely believe it was partialy filmed in europe, after reviewing the movie, i found thes two details:

you can se the cyrilic wrinting on this picture:
Image

and an internet address here:
Image
writing: bol.bg

and looking at other, non USA cars there's a lot of Lada's and Skoda's (abd R5 and Volvo 340 driving by) i presume this part was filmed in Bolgaria!!!

oh, and movie insert, where 480 appears:

Mk1 bx....Cylindrical speedo that spun round, and a dashboard that looked like the spaceship set from a sci fi movie..shame they only made em like that for a little while, became much more conventional afterwards.

My dad used to own one. It was in sandy colour. Very comfortable car. Engines were bad point in that car. Probably future classic but I still think Frenchmen shuoldn't make cars. Only wine and food ;)

The BX GTI I heard is quite a understated car. 2 litre, 16 valve and something like 900kg.
