FAO anyone waiting for a Richmodded ECU

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

For those who pm'ed me, I'll refrase my words:

1- If Richard Pruen doesn't object
2- I could provide those that lost money and/or ECU
3- in the mishap as described above
4- for free
5- with an eprom and directions on how to change two parts in the ECU
6- in an attempt to make the car running like mine.

I thought my former post was clear. Please don't pm me, in order to avoid any appearance of adorning myself with borrowed plumes I want this to be in the open. I also want it to be clear that Richard Pruen agrees, the content of the eprom is based on his ideas.
Too old to bother

Im back with a new pc!

Post by bkf_uk » Sun Mar 08, 2009 9:46 pm

Right all, ive now got myself a new pc. as a hornett said my 440 went for a drive without me and was impounded. having now got the car back my cambelt has snapped. My apologies to all but i havent had any access to a pc and that is the reason for my lack of contact. my laptop and the ecus were stolen and as it's my fault they went missing i replaced them at great expense (dual layer red ecus are a swine to find!).

As of now, with my engine in ruins i am no longer in a position to offer to see rich, i am now costing up repair costs as im thinking of scrapping the 440 due to the fact it isnt worth repairing if the valves are damaged.

orange ecu was easy to soruce, the blue one was a little more intresting. but getting hold of a dual layer red now that was hard work, thankfuly places like Salvo exist to help source such items! As for the cambelt going i should of known it was going to be suspect, the recovery agency that returned my car said when it was found it had a brick on the throttle and had been left bouncing on the rev limiter until it ran out of petrol. going to take the head off tommorow and see if the valves have survived, thankfuly the belt went at idle (a very rough low cutting out idle as well thank god!) so i might of been lucky!

Doesn't your insurance cover your costs?

And who on earth would steal some B18FT Ecu's?

neds , bastards , scum , chancers the list is endless they just steal and toss away because they know it will cause havoc in someones life but they dont care because they have rights etc I would flog the bastards to death and the first legal aid lawyer to arrive on the scene would be told you cant get paid for defending scum and watch those bastards dissappear. and if any of their scum clans object there must some gulags left in russia?

and you asked why ?

FOR NO BLOODY REASON EXCEPT THEY COULD DO IT

ECU's

Post by V480TI » Mon Mar 09, 2009 4:14 pm

BKF-UK : I feel sorry for your bad luck with theft and your car and cambelt, but I still think you could have let the forum know.
I can hardly believe that in 4 months you didn't have acces to a computer.
One little message was enough.

Anyway, I am glad that I received my 194 Richmodded Ecu today.
Thanks for that.
And for the car, I hope youre lucky and your valves are ok.

auto box

Post by V480TI » Mon Mar 09, 2009 9:04 pm

Bryan, maybe it is wise to check the fluid in your autobox.
I thought that certain parts in an autobox always move, contrary to a manual.
What I mean is that when they found your car with a brick on the pedal the autobox maybe has suffered to.

However, goodluck with the rebuild.
