Halogens?

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Halogens?

Post by random_monkey » Fri Nov 24, 2006 10:01 pm

My left bulb blew the other day so I'm replacing it over the weekend...

Anyways, as much as I hate driving at cars with halogens, I was wondering how they look on the 480, if anyone has put any in yet? (and are they better to drive with?)

Sooo... yeah ;D

You mean xenons? Most cars have halogen headlight bulbs nowadays I think.

In actual fact the cars with the really blue flickery lights, new rangies etc have High Intensity Discharge lights, and the conversion kits for proper HID are very expensive..

Get some 80/100's in there and you'll see alright.

Google is your friend:

http://www.consumabulbs.com/files/allbu ... s=ghidkits

Don't think I'd pay more than the cars worth for a set of bulbs, myself...

However

I was driving home the other day with a range rover behind me, and we stopped at some lights
and he actually dipped his headlights down to his sidelights while we waited

the most curteous range rover driver /ever/ - of course, he's still a douchebag for driving a range rover in a suit on his own, with personalised plates ;)

And cheers for the bulb info - I did mean xenon ;)
