Re: Insuring the mighty...480ES
I'm guessing you're not 30 something which I am, with full no claims bonus?
Insurance for the 480 is very low for the car that you get - a real present from our friends in the insurance industry!
I'm fully comp with Norwich Union Direct for less than 300 pound.

Insurance
Cost me about £850 fully comp for my '91 ES last year. That's with tesco. 1 year no claims and I'm 24.

I had a play around on their site and found that I could have an 850 T5 for not a lot more <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> . Tescos appear to be more concerned with the value of the car, rather than how fast/crashable it is.

insurance
Hi
I'm with Tesco as well, fully comp, 0 no-claims (cus i was on my folks unsurance first 3 years) I'm 21 and it cost me around £750. They were by far the cheapest I found, other companies wanted as much as £1300 for the same deal.

Good luck in the hunt and let us know if you find it cheaper <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Ian

Thanks for the response guys, will have a look round and let you know.

Reason is i own a 3 series BMW ( boooo ) and am fully comp. on that bad boy... ANOTHER Fully Comp. Policy is just gettin to be a bit silly on the pocket.

So Even being 29, the fact that this is a new policy with no NO CLAIMS BONUS, means a hard kick in the finacial Bollocks.

Here goes, will keep u posted.

SD

Re: Insuring the mighty...480ES
Umm, well I, errm, pay... umm, £1300/annum for fully comp at the moment for my '95 480 Turbo as I only have 2 years no claims <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> ... However, that does include all my mods, and get this - is £400 cheaper than the people I just left for the same car without mods (they didn't allow mods, hence me changing company).. so go figure. I've got some form of Norwich Union policy via a broker called Firebond, who specialise in classic and modified cars.

1995 480 Turbo, Flame Red Metallic, Jacquard/Leather

insuring the wedge of cheese
Carole Nash will insure it as a classic car!!! I was quoted £400 fully comp(30, not using my no claims, 90/H Turbo, London.) but went with Norwich Union for the same cost but TPFT so I could use my 8yrs NCB otherwise I would lose it.... This includes all the legal and breakdown extras otherwise it would have been £320.
