Glovebox stuck

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Glovebox stuck

Post by yorkshire480 » Tue Sep 29, 2015 7:28 pm

The title says it all really.
My glovebox won't open.
Things tried:
Key - obviously. It's not the lock sticking
Various degrees of banging and tapping.
Wiggling left to right.
Sliding credit cards around the gap.

It's stuck on the left hand side. I've had a look at the bodywork pdf which didn't really help much.

Anyone encountered this before? I'd like to get it open as there's a pepparami and my spare multi meter in there! I'm hungry and I have voltages to check!

To get some wiggle room as it is jamming at one side from your description knock out the 2 hinge pins and take it from there.

At this point its probably best to get something else to eat... That pepparami could be there for a while...

Thanks Jim, I'll give that a go when I've next got some anger to vent and fancy a good swear.

Norm57, Are you based in Leeds or nearby by any chance?

Gltease, I've ordered a box of pork scratchings that will live in the rear footwell in case of emergency.
