MIRICLE plastic polish for rear lights!!!!!

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

MIRICLE plastic polish for rear lights!!!!!

Post by felyx » Mon Apr 16, 2007 5:22 pm

Hi people i bit the bullet and lashed out a whole £6.99 at halfords ( horrible shop )

and bought some Mequires "PLASTX" plastic cleaner it took 10 years off my rear lights in 5 mins !!

i only tested it but will go nuts for 15 mins on each light , and will post some before and after on wednesday ( today monday) as my sd card reader is down .

If you buy this and don't see dramatic results i will refund your money it's that good.

cheers felyx

Yeah.... then I found out the Elan's rear clusters cost £500 each to replace... f'ing good job they don't fade.

Why did they use such shite plactic on the 480's rear clusters, AND since it was in production for almost a decade, how come they never changed the design so they didn't crack and fade...

Spray one coat of Polytrol on them.

Its UV resistant lacquer.£20 for 500ml..

That way you never have to polish them at all!!!

c'mon steve....theres a whole world of mirth in this thread about 'other' substances that could work.....sort of like mayonnaise looking err....biological product?

you seem to be calming in your dotage dude!!!

on a serious note though.....wd40 does a nice shine to em.....and so does the spray silicone that you use for shower rails.....
not as good as sanding em down....they cover the issue rather than sorting it.
