Hello all
I wonder if anyone can tell me what brake discs and pads I'll have on my 1995 480 Celebration?
I've tried to look this up on various car parts websites but for a 1995 2.0 litre 480 there seem to be a few options with respect to type of pads, whether it will have solid or ventilated discs and whether its a "Lucas braking system". I know I could go outside and take the wheel off and have a look but it's -5 degrees out there so I thought I'd try and see if I could get an answer from the warmth of my living room!
(I'm also obviolsy assuming it hasn't been modified at any point but given its history I think that's very unlikely. I'm also predominantly interest in the front as the are the ones that are in most need of changing but it would be useful to know about the black as well.)
Finally, any advice on what the best/best value ones to go for? I had been intending to call in at my local Euro Car Parts but I see there are also places on eBay that ship next day.
All help and advice gratefully received!
Aidan

Re: Brake discs and pads for Celebration
vented brake discs are on the turbo 480
normal non vented on the celeb.
just go onto the eurocarparts site and type in your reg no.
also there are a couple of promos on just now via the eurocarparts website.
If its your first time changing pads stick with the ECParts as I am not convinced by ebay.

Re: Brake discs and pads for Celebration
Thanks Jim
I've typed in my reg number on the ECP website but it appears to give me two options for front pads, seems you need to know if you've got a Lucas brake system or a Teves - the pads look different.......

Teves:

Any idea which the Celeb has?

It's the bottom one for the rear, can't confirm for the front. Just go outside and have a look, if you've got the standard wheels on you'll be able to see through the spokes so no need for a strip down to check.

Good thinking Davey
Have just been outside to check in the daylight and whilst you can't really see the full shape of the pads, the caliper is clearly stamped "Lucas" so that's good enough for me.

Re: Brake discs and pads for Celebration
Just had the same 'problem' this week
SWAMBO collected the pads from our local Motor Factors (who are usually SPOT ON) but the ones in the box are the 'TEVES' ones even although they registration number was given so maybe not all the books concur (I have bought the correct ones in the past)
they have the other (correct) ones in-stock so will swap this week-end
