After reading a bit about juddering when driving in first and broken engine mounts etc I'm still none the wiser on problem with my 480.
When I last drove it, and then reversed back onto drive, there were some serious clunks coming from the front - I would say transmission related. It sounded like the engine power was not getting to the wheels and like something was disengaging. So like the driveshafts had popped off? It felt a bit like one side of the wheels was moving but the other not ...?
I'm no expert as you can guess by my very technical description, so any help for what this could be and where to start poking would be great...
Cheers, olafson

Re: Strange noise
My engine mounts are worn and when blipping the throttle at say 60mph the engine would make the car jolt and quite bad vibration on revs about 2000 when pulling away if any help

Re: Strange noise
If the mounts are bad then try rocking from left to right 'i didn't get much play facing engine and rocking ' how is the damper on belt side 'maybe able to see with bonnet up and handbrake on and then using reverse then first for any movement Shouldn't move a great deal
