No more slippage on clutch with Rich mod-- Yippeee!

Feel very happy people ..
I have had a rich mod fitted since June . very happy with the results , until i began to get slippage in 4th 5th when the torque kicks in 3/4.5k RPM. This was becoming quite bad recently. And after reading all the threads on here about slippage and Rich - mod- i thought there was little i could do.
When i got the car in MAY - it was in a bit of a mess- one of the things that needed replacment bedies tyres, Brake components , windscreen , etc was the clutch pedal - ( bent out of shape ) , as you would imagine, this reduced the travel , Making disengagement of the clutch for gear changes v difficult. i replaced the pedal with a second hand one and thought nothing of it.
A few weeks the pedal started bending again- all the problems came back + to annoy me more , i was getting chronic slippage ( thought the clucth was smoked ) , .. So took off the pedal on friday - in preperation for picking up another on Saturday morning . Whils the pedal was off i checked the cable + the play, resistance + travel in it. There seemed to be no resistance / all seemed well.
When i bought my 91 ES a couple of years ago - i ordere A clutch cable as a spare ( determined not to get caught out if one went on me) < I stil had this isn the packet. So i decided to compare the existing and new one.. There was very little differnce between them in terms of resistance. But decided to fitt the new one any way - just in case the exisiting one was fatigued -
I threaded it through the engine bay just as the original was fitted - connected it to the pedaL ( NIGHTMARE JOB ) and when fitting to the clutch release arm. i noticed that the new one once fitted .. the adjusting nuts only needed to be right on the end of the threaded part .
Anyway - sat in the car once adjusted it up ( well smooth)- first trip i took was towing a trailer full of rubbish to the tip. Floored it down the by pass in every gear ( with the addditional weight ) just to see if the slip had got worse or better ... NO SLIP AT ALL .. AMAZING !
can think of explanantions which may be contributed to the slippage problems encountered by us people with Rich Mods..
A, Although the original cable felt free when not attached - the way it was installed may have been hindering movement.
B, The very top end of the cable / (over time ) gets worn / fouled up and therefore, the the retraction of the cable / pedal diminishes , hence(pressure expended on previously retracting the cable + pedal, is now used where needed i.e. on the pressure plate.
these things added together , give the result of just enough additional friction to eliminate slippage..
My car is a 94 so i will have the 215mm plate , the car has done around 70k miles so i assume it has the original volvo clutch.
Really chuffed - because i was preparing myself to have to pay for a clutch and ramp time to do it.
So hey -try it peeps ... I Remember cable being quite expensive when ibought it ..( may be £30 ) but hey even if it doesn't cure your slipping probs, You will have a spare .
