Looking to sort out the clutch because it's started to slip.

There have been a few suggestions in the past, but, I guess this ties in with the parts thread ozturbo is doing in gen disc too... so I thought it might be a good idea to ask for options?

I'm looking at late style clutch. What sort of options are we looking at for uprating the clutch to take +200hp? Does anyone know any good sources etc?

Tnx!

get those thick rubber bands off the postie!
there waaaay better than the fiddly little ones

seriously....green stuff do a decent clutch plate...or maybe even go for a 'paddle' clutch type.....think rich looked at getting a paddle clutch made, as his were lasting about as long as my memory atm.
biggest expense would be the actual plate....once youve got it, you can have it re-surfaced (right term?) when it wears.
think the theory behind them is more gripping surfaces or something?

Here we are, the problem for which no solution has yet been found! :(

Techniclutch seem to have gone quiet on their uprated Volvo clutches.Just as i had the money to buy one they disappeared from Ebay!

You could go to http://www.sachs-boge.co.uk/ and download their clutch kit pdf.
The 480 Turbo 215mm clutch is only available as a kit, you can't mix and match. There is a Laguna 2.0 16v friction disc that can be had seperately- same size and number of splines. I think this is what Richard Pruen is using in his, it's been well documented before. Seems you can't buy from them direct though, you have to order via a retailer of some sort. :(

I think Haz has been using the standard Sachs clutch setup in his with no problems, and he has lots of power, but then he has probably around 200ish kilos less to shift.....

Maybe try phoning Techniclutch- it's free!

What, in 215mm?
If you're on early clutch you can get all sorts of stuff as it's 200mm and that's common on lots of hotted up r5 and others.

215 is balls cos there's nothing much to upgrade to!!
