info center

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

info center

Post by doingitsideways » Sun Jul 08, 2012 1:48 pm

Hmm...

got in the car this morning and it seems my info center has given up the ghost! :(

It has played up before, about a month ago, it refused to do anything a couple of times, but after a few minutes of driving, sorted itself out.

Also been losing it's memory.

Oh... Once the display went all crazy, flickering all kinds of nonesense, but again it sorted itself out.

I've been in and out of the car all day and there's still no signs of life.

So, anyone got any ideas??

Cheers,

Steve :hopping:

If you shine on it with a strong light, do you see anything indicated? Then it's the halogen bulb.
Other options are bad connection from the connectors and bad connection to the lcd display.

It's started working now, when it did, it ran through the usual oil ok, range, then onto the selected function.

It's got me puzzled!!

It sounds to me very much like poor connection in the two multi plugs at the back. Probably best to remove the dash panel and take them off and give them a good squirt of contact cleaner. Worked on mine when I had the same problem.
