Anyone know of car mechanics in Glasgow?

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

Anyone know of car mechanics in Glasgow?

Post by Laura » Tue May 02, 2006 12:55 pm

The two lights are needing replaced at the front of my 480. I realise that in order to get in to change the bulbs that the pop-up headlights have to be removed first - which is beyond my capabilities, unfortunately.

I wondered if any of you know of any mechanics or garages in the Glasgow area (I'm in Kinning Park, south side) who would be able to do this at a good price?

thanks for your help!

:)

I'm sure Mr Murphy or Vandergraff could help you out for a cuppa tea and a choccy biscuit.

both the main bulbs are not working? I doubt it's a bulb fault.

If you use you main beam on the stork do they flash?

I'll have a look at it if you want, might be the wiring going to the pop ups as these can get damaged and brittle over time and the movement of the pop ups can make them snap!

if not i know a half decent garage over in the west end. I suspect they might be getting sick of me and my endless stream of 480's though

What colour/ type of 480 do you have? ive prob seen it about, i'm sad like that

Hi there!

The full beam comes on and off ok on each of the pop-up headlights. The wee bulb symbol on the dashboard comes on and off when it feels like it :? . For about a month it was just the one bulb out, but now it's both of them. Maybe it is a wiring thing though. :(

Murf - thanks for your posting, will be in touch with you by e-mail, if that's ok.

This club seems really friendly. For years I wanted a 480 and just got my first one in December there - couldn't earlier 'cos of the insurance cost :kill: (you know how it is). Unfortunately I'm pretty unknowledgable about technical things - hopefully I'll learn though :D
