one for the electronics guys!

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

has any1 considered making an led rev counter/gear change indicator?
i assume the rev counter receives an electronic signal?
how hard would it be to make a row of leds....maybe red, amber, green that indicates the optimum gear change point, based on revs?
thought it might look cool, but i like shiney, twinkly things....me missus calls me the magpie

lol

Medium easy.

You need a buffer / trigger (proly an op-amp), frequency to voltage converter, and a bargraph driver. About 15 parts in all (proly less).

I would make one... but I don't have time.
