Relay confusion

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

Relay confusion

Post by ChrisDK » Mon Aug 18, 2014 12:32 pm

Hi All
I'm puzzled by the headlamp relay of my 88 ES. I think a need a new headlamp relay and have been looking at the existing one. It is a Hella 5KG 005 018-01, when I look it up on the google it seems to be a relay from a 440? are the 480 sharing relay's and other stuff with the 440?
when I look at the spareparts manual it gives me a part number that dosn't give any hits on goolge, and hence i do not know it the "original" relay in another than the 5KG 005 018-01
Any one got info or experience with this?

Thanks and regards

Chris

You will find that 480s share many, many parts with the 440, and indeed 460.

They are all based on the same chassis and are near enough identical underneath.

Engines, gearboxes, suspension are all the same and most of the wiring too.

Hammers can't fix a 480!!!
