Mystery switch

Post by Captain Slow » Sun Sep 18, 2011 6:22 pm

Does the switch in the following photo look familiar to anyone, or do we think it is one of the special presents left to me by one of the cars former owners?

My guess would be the sunroof but you would have discovered that by yourself.

Thats not the sunroof it is where you would place a button starter for the ignition or an isolating switch for certain circuitry . Having read esta's diary thread it is possible she used it to isolate circuits that could be draining her battery.

do a search on "stone age technology" and you should be able to pull up the thread of mine which should have pics.

This usually a blanking plate pops out easily and can be repositioned just as easily. Just pop it out and see where the leads go

No sunroof on the car.

I shall have a look at what comes out the back of the switch, tomorow probably. Thing is, it seems to do nothing! I'll see if I can find anything in estas diary thread-or from esta herself..

tut tut deary me! whoever suggested sunroof?
first off (still know me stuffs lol!) GT never had sunroof and second, its not a very Volvo style switch lmao!!

IIRC it was for the amp cos i was running the standard stereo and it needed separate switch, i needed summit which lit up so i couldnt forget to turn it off, and i put it in a panel that was removeable so when it was no longer req´d i could just remove it and replace it with a non modified one from a breaking 480!

Hope that helps, glad shes still going! Hello´s to Van and GJim as well!! *waves* ;)

The other switch was a removable one to the left of the heated seat switches, see oct 26 2008: http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/forum/v ... 1&start=20

Don't worry bout the colander, mines a sieve!
