Problems With Heater Control Board

Post by Quagmire_GT » Sun May 16, 2010 4:03 pm

About a week ago my blowers wouldnt blow (thought it was the switch) too the switch apart cleaned it all up refitted it, still nothing. Even though the weathers warm i still want it fixing just so i know its done, ended up tracing the problem back to the heater control panel, on the circuitboard there was 2 or 3 soldered pieces where the solder had broke and would work if touched with a screwdriver. resoldered and rebuilt the dash and its working fine. i just cant believe how lucky i was finding it so easily! anyone else had this problem??

remember he is referring to an air con control unit ( VEM ).

a non aircon car just uses a mechanical system of wire and lever.

Someone sent me the instructions to fix this. It's a specific part on the circuit board that fails and needs re soldering. It looks complicated but basically you carefully remove the heater control panel, carefully open the case and you will quickly see the one that has failed. Getting it all back together is tricky but not impossible. I'll see if I can find the instructions. Watch this space!

life would be easier if the injectors worked from a wire and lever.no more ecu trouble.
