starter motor

Post by felyx » Wed Nov 24, 2004 9:21 am

I had the sma eproblem the starter would sort of have work but as the car was turning over it would slightly cease up and the volt meter (turbo's only) would drop to 9 volts then the starter would move and the volt meter go back up, the starter motor is a 1 and half hour job in the SNAP MECHANICS book , and if you can afford it get a mechanic to do it because there bloody pain on turbo's and not much fun on non turbo's

I(f you can get someone to do it cheap then do it. Its a lot easier to do on a ramp. However if doing it yourself it can take a bit of time.

I have do this job on a few occasions now

every time i do it, i end up doing it twice.
once to remove the knackered one, and once to remove the decent one from the spares car...(for stock cars)
for my black one i would get a new one of course.
