Lambda light on gauge cluster??

Hi all,

The other day I took my gauge cluster out to change the bulbs but discovered the icon for the green lambda triangle next to the handbrake light has a plastic blank plug instead of a bulb. Seeing as my car has a catalytic converter (and therefore a lambda sensor), I thought it would have one there.

Does anybody know why this light has one of those factory fit white blank’s instead of a bulb?

I know these gauge clusters can vary wildly depending on year/spec, so wondering if anyone has the same gauge as mine? (1993 2.0)

Thanks

Will

Aye 1993 with 2 litre , green lamda light comes on then off.

if yours has a blank it avoids any 'issues' at MoT as the symbol is pretty 'hidden' when not lit up

Hmmm. I think you’ve confirmed my suspicion.
I’ll stick a bulb in there and see what happens

Definitely should have a bulb, Will, so someone has removed it and neatly blanked it. It's another of those lights that should illuminate with ignition then go off.

So it'll be interesting to hear what it does once you fit a bulb.....
