Post by cranna21 » Mon May 23, 2016 4:55 pm

Hi folks, looking for a sump for my B18ft, does anyone know if sumps from a 1.7 na or 2.0 or any Renault engines fit? Cheers

See my post ,it depends only on Chassi Number . Engine and gearbox is not a problem . Look at your VIN , last six numbers .

the engine i have is spare and out of a car, so therefor i do not have a chassis number for it.

what are the differences between chassis numbers?

Chassis numbers, from elsewhere on this site:
500000 - 501200 = 1986
501200 - 517501 = 1987
517501 - 536101 = 1988
536101 - 549001 = 1989
549001 - 563101 = 1990
563101 - 573100 = 1991
573100 - 581000 = 1992
581000 - 586300 = 1993
586300 - 590001 = 1994
590001 - = 1995

It would be interesting to know what the difference is though.

looking on ebay at new items for a renault 19 which after speaking to the seller he assures me it fits any 480 1.7 engine

my car is a 91 however the engine i am unsure, it's being used for a low compression forged turbo build...

My wisdom is from VADIS / Volvo electronic parts and service program / the same is used by Volvo Dealers . My ES , 1990 , 1.8 engine has Chassis Number 559248 , so sump will fit to all engines up to this number . Give me your engine number I`ll try to find what year it is . That number is bolted on a small plate in front of the engine . Unfortunatelly I can`t make a picture of Colli sump , front frame is broken and engine is lying on a floor . I think the best way is to look at all sumps having in hand . Maybe Glasgowjim could help ?
