so i just spent the last 4 days!! changing my 2ltr lump in my 480 (on my own :cryhard:), i was wondering how long it has taken you guys to do a engine swap??

i did it the last time in 5 hours :)
Renault 5 GTT *volvo 480 turbo power*

161 BHP & 230 Nm @ 10 Psi -->Now running on 18 Psi :P

soon --> new engine in with 315cc injectors t25/28 turbo an BIGMOD :)

4 hours, 4 days, 4 weeks, if its running, well done !!

yeah gd point thanks!
its almost there, the speedo isnt workin (so either the dash is nakered or the sensor)

any tips for getting to the speedo sensor with taking all the manifolds out???

and the engine idles a bit strange, (jumping between 800 and 1000 rpm) but seems to run well

45 mins a small torch and compact mirror/ inspection mirror . No removal of anything required.

I had got it down to 2 hours out, 2 hours in....obviously doing anything to it or the replacement would be on top of that.

I might be a bit out of practice now mind.

The next time you do it you'll be a lot quicker. :D

I have the job of removing my 480 turbo engine for my clio :( Hopefully shouldnt take too long :lol:

Just thought I would let you know I have had a good day fitting my engine in .It now feels like a car and not just a shell.
The time passes by so quick when putting all the bits and pieces back on.Got bloody cold though !.
A big thankyou to my mate Justin who has put a lot of time and effort in making this happen.

Cheers matey, Have now finished all the piping and electrics.

Had to remove the down pipe as a nut and a copper washer fell down it . :lol:

So did it start ?

YES :hopping:

Here is a pic all done although I am going to get the injectors cleaned or replaced
