car a bit stuttery PLEASE HELP!

Post by ROBLITTLER » Wed Dec 13, 2006 2:19 pm

hi got a 1991 440 turbo with richmod the other day after a long steady drive (around 100 miles) was on motor way near home put my foot down in 5th gear and the car stuttered a few times and just wouldn't go properly normal driving the car is fine but some time when in 3rd 4th or 5th put your foot down hard and the car struggles for a bit to start as if there isn't enough fuel :cryhard: any ideas/experience of similar things got some time to have a better look tomorrow but nice if you have a good starting point.

thanks Rob.

Do the revs rise when it does this? The clutch could be slipping. The richmod is very good at showing up this weakness!

I'd try the plugs and HT leads first, possibly distributor cap/rotor arm as well

Also give the throttle body a clean out
