All the information you need on engine-problems is here. The engine includes the Turbo-charger, airco and everything else you'll find under the bonnet.

Abs whinning sound or noise

Post by bukky » Sat Apr 23, 2005 6:23 pm

Hi Folks,

Any suggestions, my abs has a whinning sound or noise for about 35 seconds to about a minute after I switch off the engine, is this normal or is it trying to tell me a story.

Thanks ,

Bukky.

Abs whinning sound or noise

Hi maartin,

let's assume it is the aux water pump, although am yet to check it, what does the sound indicate when the engine is switched off and the sound comes on and goes off after about a minute?

Thanks,

Bukky.

Hi,

My aux pumps water around the engine for a min or so to help cool the hotspots.

Just wait for it and then put your hand down on the pump and your feel it working away. Just don't burn your self.

it sounds like water sound  yeah your hear it and that's ok.

They can get rusted up and taking them apart (4 screws) is not wise as the screws rust away and then your stuff. My 480S had a rusted pump and it made no sounds so the sound is a good thing!

Hi Atex61,

Five pounds is too cheap, let put it into a bid.
Funny enough my other 480 ES 1989 non turbo does not behave that way.
