sounds like an electrical short of some kind mate. Not to clued up on this sort of thing but it might be worth chekcing your CEM (under the bonnet release plate passenger footwell) for loose/shorted connections.

I am sure somene on here will be able to help mate so dont dispair!

No i dont love my 480 not at the moment. Cat rattles when accelerating, brakes squeek constantly when driveing really loud, speedo is very intermittant, the lovley white paintwork is like a police fingerprint kit of my hands. I have no more money to spend on it for months :( I need to earn more mon...

Wow that is sooo much money. :o They do tend to be a bit more pricey down here in devon tho I have noticed. It must be platinum plated or something. Yeah i have recently done this. Pull the hook off and undoo the screw.

THen there is a HUGE alan key socket which you need to undo i had to buy a bunch of Alan keys for £5 from kevin koopers.

When fiiitng the new one dont forget to put the spring on before the rest (like i did)

If we could get them for say £30 + not to bad P+P i would be up for it as well. Just £70 is well too steep for an interior oddment. I could have a new timing belt fitted for £55+ Vat!!

mine does this early mornig, or when damp...after about 200-300 meters though, it seems to sort itself out. i thought it was the lambda, but it ran the same when i disconnected it. i have new leads on though, so i would have thought it would cure it......maybe a liberal spraying of some kind of wat...

Sorry to hear about your trouble. Extra stress is the last thing you need before exams. My 480 Judders badly in the wet, John the guy from Volcare says they short out from leads 3+4 which are very close together. Maybee some nice new leads and a bit of creative insulating would do the trick? Matt PS...
