Re: Price when new?
There were many more accessories available like Jump Leads, Tow Rope and Warning Triangle but as these were also available from your local Halfords I have not listed them. All prices are rounded and 1991. Upgraded Stereo with Graphic Equaliser and 4x20w Power Amp £700 Cassette Storage £20 Venetian B...

Re: FORUM ISSUES - Report them here
Oddly I clicked a link the other day that I had never clicked before “The Team” (bottom of every page) and noticed that we have a couple of new moderators.
What I don’t know is if it’s correct and therefore its everywhere else that’s wrong.

Re: photobucket options whip around?
I received an e-mail from photobucket saying they have TEMPORARILY reinstated hosting and they have. Sadly not Jim’s but most others have returned.
So now would be a good time for anyone wanting to save any threads to do it before they are gone again.
I now have all the Howto Manuals in pdf format.

Re: The Current State - A Lotta Hope
I may have gone a little further than originally planned. https://vgy.me/SII1Ak.jpg Not a nut, bolt, clip or grommet left in the engine bay. Goes to show what time and no money for the car does for you (after my list of daily chores is complete of course ;) ). Well it’s now ready for s...

Re: So, today was the day...
Yes the DRL in the UK should be a BAZ15D. As mentioned above if you are using a BAZ15S it’ll be working incorrectly and by luck not design. I called the 4W filament Dim DRLs as not sure what else to call them really, the diagrams call them parking lights but in the UK they’re not used for parking. D...

Re: So, today was the day...
Does that mean on cars with a single filament DRL, the sidelights are also 21w then? Is this only for cars without a dim/dip relay? It’s difficult to tell as the diagrams don’t always make it clear region by region but as far as I can tell they all should have the duel filament just used in a diffe...

Re: So, today was the day...
It may work if the single bulb contact is touching either of the two contacts in the holder. As I understand it (see question in "The story of #89/480 continues..." thread) if its touching the 4w contact or both the light would be permanently on, if only 21w contact it will go out when the popups ar...

Re: So, today was the day...
If you have an S you will only have a Single filament bulb eg 21w. The D is dual filament and should be a 4/21w.

Re: The story of #89/480 continues...
I’m curious. In your pictures it appears that the 4w is on in one and the 21w in the other, both with the popups up. On mine as soon as you pop the lights only the 4w is used (from memory as it’s been awhile). How does yours work?

Re: 323 Storm grey paint
I wouldn’t go too much on names either as 480 Europe call 323 Dark Grey Metallic, Volvo owners call it Storm Grey Metallic and some other places call it Dark Grey Pearl. But as jifflemon says use the whole code as it can make a difference.

I had to drill mine out. It did take some time as I didn’t own an angle grinder at the time.

Re: wanted two litre manual post 93 front sub-frame
That does make more sense. The straight bar at the front says Manual. Looking at Vadis I would say the guy was right a 460 frame should fit if it had the same gearbox and was from the same year however the frame in your picture has a horseshoe mount making it 1992 at the latest so it can’t be from a...

Re: wanted two litre manual post 93 front sub-frame
Well there is something not right. According to the parts book and Vadis there was only one part number for the Auto up till 1992 which has the horseshoe mount as on my cars (the manual is more complicated). From 1993 the new mount was used on the Auto and therefore the new frame. This did change pa...

Re: wanted two litre manual post 93 front sub-frame
I believe your first picture is also of a manual but with the older horseshoe mount. The auto mount has a bend in the front as shown.
I don’t know if the later autos had the later mount and a straight front as both my autos have the old horseshoe and bend.

Re: Posting images using IMGUR
Having gone from photobucket to google then to postimage.org that then changed to .cc I’m now using a mixture of VGY and Imgur so hopefully I’ll only have to edit half my posts if it happens again. I’m still using post images.org for my photos, so far I haven’t had any problems with it. Sorry to be ...

Re: Wanted crankcase recirculating valve
Assuming you are talking about Part 1 it is turbo specific and is a valve. If you are talking about part 8 it is the same part for all petrol engines across the whole 400 range and is an Oil Separator that attaches to the block. https://vgy.me/uS0os2.jpg Not got a turbo but I think both are under th...
