I'm seriousley considering a de-cat but I like the fact that I can do 100mph and still be able to listen to the stereo (not that I would do that sort of speed!) how much louder is it? I would'nt mind a bit of extra growl but when I put a de-cat on my old 106 rallye it was soooooooo loud. any advice...

Mine does the same, on mine there is a wire that runs from a clip on the alternator, it is on the side opposite the drive belt on the alternator. Hmm it sounds tricky, check the earth points? It could be rust. What would cause it to die after getting warm (i guess thats why it dies)? or perhaps its jiggling?

Wow this looks good stuff: http://www.sika.co.uk/tech-elseal-bond.htm I used mastic (clear stuff) on mine and it lasted for the winter, now it's started to come away and be a bit leakalicous now. are these 480's known for having leaks at all? I hope they are not as I live somewhere very rainy. Matt
