WANTED - not one, but TWO rear calipers! :-(

Yep! If you've been reading my "diary" ( ) then you'll discover that both of my rear calipers are shot to pieces and i'm in desparate need of some new ones before i get grooves in my discs! They are for a '92 ES and will need to be posted to the Isle of Man (lil bit extra than normal national ...

correct me if i'm wrong, but surely the engines in 440's and 460's are the same as those in a 480? So if you want it "super chipped" then surely they'd be ok. But like Martin says, search for the Richmod. Best value modification you can get for a 480 turbo. :hopping:

With the track day now just two days away, i've suffered a major setback. It appears both rear brake calipers are shot, both just bind on and overheat. Got them checked out by a mechanic and it appears the sliders are completely siezed and nothing they tried could free them. Quoting me £200 for a...

all is well, I found out that it's easier to press the brake with the heel and tap the throttle with the toe rather than the other way round which seems to work well enough. We shall see on the upcoming trackday! :D

Still not 100% sure about the future of the project, but for now the car is back on the island, and I'm preparing for an up coming track day on the 21st. Everything seems to be working well currently, I found 4 spare tyres all with good tread so I'll take them up to the track and see how many I can ...

that looks pretty similar to what I had in mind. You'd need to make the trailing edge as sharp as possible i'm reckoning? All begs the question of is rear downforce really needed? Surely lowering the center of gravity and shifting it to the right point in the car would be better, coupled with reduci...

Do those pedal covers include an extension to the accelerator? I ask because I've been watching footage of rally drivers and how they tap the throttle with their heel when they brake, it appears however that the 480's throttle pedal doesnt extend down far enough  I'm doing a track day in a few ...

wow thats pretty cool! Yeh I just moved into that area. I'm not so sure about the validity of the exhaust now that the turbo's not going in. I may even try and be "normal" like everyone else....whatever that means! ;)

Could always mount the sunroof in the wall to make a remotely openable window from the sofa, useful to remove the gaseous remains of a curry night! Naturally it would leak water like a sieve though! ;)

Last time I went out for a night drive though, the police pulled me in for doing 25mph in a 30mph limit and looking a bit unsure as to where I was going. :? That put a damper on that drive! The police these days...pull you over for speeding, pull you over for not speeding. When are they going to le...

Bad news. After being away on a field trip for a week in Wales I've returned to find that my donor engine (along with the turbo and every other essential part) has been sold off. Having spent the last few weeks giggling with excitement and getting everything organised, I'm quite frankly absolutely g...
