Re: Battery: Ah, CCA and dimensions

Called the Volvo dealer as I think the battery has a fault. £221 they want now! Genuine Volvo battery used to be the same price as a decent brand.

Re: UK Launch Cars

D860 CPV was in a scrap yard in Kent. Just made contact with a plan to ask for pictures but it has been crushed back, having first came to them in August 1996!

Wiper motor for sale from it if anyone wants a souvenir! https://ebay.us/m/QefXKt Last part off it.

Re: 40 years of the 480 in the UK - 11 June 2027

I have checked and we can have the hall either or both days. Although it would be nice to have it on the actual day, a Friday, I am presuming that the Saturday would be significantly more sensible for the majority of folk that work weekdays. What do you all think? Martin, my car was registered in Ma...

Re: 40 years of the 480 in the UK - 11 June 2027

Yeah, I'll pop down in my MOT and road tax exempt 480! (Actually free tax is the year after as I think it has to turn 40 in the first few months; and I plan to always have an MOT). Maybe the Cambridge met I keep mentioning but never get round to organinsing? I can hire the village hall opposite my h...

Hey Roy. Not a bad idea but to me the wheels, front DRL, lights, L/H pop-up, rear quarter and roof line are wrong.

Re: ICV not moving by ECU

There are three connections. One is permanently powered, the other two are both earths that the ECU controls with a varying frequency. I am guessing one side does ‘close’ and the other ‘open’? Nice fix: Maybe you have a broken wire on one of the earth/return wires that the ECU pulses to get the desi...

Gamboge, there is a starting threshold of 10 posts for the ability to post links and pictures. I suspect using PMs may be the same, but this is a guess. Post a three more times and al should be well.

Re: Alistair (Al) Luckham

He was such a big character. I did love with Al that he would be such a strong presence in every situation, even to the point of clearly (trying to?) getting himself in trouble for a laugh, saying exactly what was on his mind in front of everyone, without any sort of filter. But then, minutes later,...

I too have noticed differences over the years. I think the automatic one was slightly different, maybe directing air somewhere else. There may be others too.

I still need a driver's side reflector if anyone has one they are willing to sell. Last one departed the car never to be seen again.
